Dr. Amy Kaiser

Dr. Amy Kaiser earned a Masters in psychology at Columbia University in New York in 1994, and earned a PhD at the University of Toronto in Behavioural Sciences in the Department of Public Health Sciences in 2002. Following this, Dr. Kaiser did post-doctoral work in the Cancer Genetics department at The Hospital for Sick Children.

Dr. Kaiser counsels in the area of stress, anxiety and depression. She has a particular interest in issues of sexuality and sexual identity, as well as life transitions. She conducts both individual and couples counseling. She also has expertise in the area of genetic health psychology, facilitating coping and decision making in areas related to genetic health, genetic testing and carrier status.

Dr. Kaiser is an Assistant Professor of Public Health Sciences and of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at the University of Toronto where she lectures on clinical issues and sits on student research supervisory committees.
