Shely Polak

Shely Polak is a registered social worker and an accredited family mediator practicing in Toronto, Ontario. She is currently in the PhD program at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto, specializing in children who resist parental contact post-separation in high conflict separated and divorced families. She has a wide range of experience in working with children and adults in this context. She is an agent of the Office of the Children's Lawyer, Ministry of the Attorney General where she is responsible for conducting custody evaluations and assisting in representing children's legal positions. Ms. Polak is also a family mediator for the Ontario and Superior Court of Justice where she helps parents create child focused parenting plans. Ms. Polak's private practice at The Clinic on Dupont will provide specialized services related to families impacted by separation and divorce including: custody and access assessments (S.30), family mediation, therapeutic reunification, parenting coordination, and individual (child, adolescent and adult) therapy. Ms. Polak is a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers, Ontario Association of Social Workers, Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, and the Ontario Association of Family Mediators.
