Harriet weaver MEd RP is a registered psychotherapist. She has been working as a DBT mental health therapist since 1999. Harriet received her graduate degree at the University of Toronto in 1999. Harriet completed her undergraduate degree at Hobart and William Smith College in the US. Harriet has worked on a DBT team at CAmh as a Dialectical Behavior Therapist since 1999 in areas of both mental health and addictions(process addictions and chemical addictions) and has participated as one of the clinicians on numerous DBT research studies. Harriet has provided training and workshops in the area of DBT. Her areas of expertise are Eating disorders/disordered eating, Individuals who struggle with Body image, Borderline Personality Disorder or Traits, individuals who have a difficulty managing anger, Couples or Families who are struggling with their relationships and/or individuals who are challenged directly or indirectly with addictions.
Harriet co-started a DBT program for individuals transitioning out of inpatient hospitals. Harriet provides Individual DBT therapy sessions, Couples therapy sessions, family therapy sessions and DBT skills groups.
Harriet is also an active supervisor of students from both the faculty of social work and from OISE faculty of counselling psychology for psychology specialists at University of Toronto.
