Dr. Meagan Yarmey is a Ph.D.-trained clinician and Registered Social Worker with more than twenty years of experience helping individuals navigate the psychological and emotional demands of modern life. Her work focuses on supporting driven, conscientious professionals, creatives, and leaders who experience persistent self-doubt, perfectionism, or chronic stress despite external success.
Dr. Yarmey integrates cognitive and behavioural therapies, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), with mindfulness and body-based approaches. Her method is both practical and reflective – grounded in evidence-based frameworks while attuned to the personal histories and patterns that shape each client’s experience.
She works collaboratively, helping clients understand how internal narratives of pressure, criticism, and achievement are maintained, and guiding them toward strategies that foster resilience, balance, and authenticity. Her approach emphasizes clarity and self-understanding rather than quick solutions, encouraging sustainable change in the way clients relate to themselves and others.
In addition to her clinical training, Dr. Yarmey has a background in Zen Shiatsu and yoga, which informs her interest in the relationship between psychological wellbeing and physical awareness. Her personal experience as a solo parent further deepens her insight into managing competing demands, identity shifts, and the complexity of human resilience.
Clients often describe her as calm, perceptive, and precise – a clinician who listens deeply and challenges thoughtfully. Her aim is to help individuals find steadiness amid uncertainty and to cultivate a sense of grounded confidence that endures beyond therapy.
