The Clinic on Dupont - Clinical Psychology

Rachel Shiff is a Registered Social Worker who provides individual therapy to adolescents, young adults, and adults. She works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, emotional challenges, relationship concerns, and life transitions. Many of the people Rachel works with feel stuck in familiar patterns and are seeking greater clarity and self-understanding.

Rachel earned her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology from Queen’s University and her Master of Social Work from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University, where she completed a specialization in Trauma-Informed Care. She has clinical experience in both private practice and healthcare settings. In private practice, Rachel has supported adolescents and adults presenting with anxiety, mood-related concerns, relational difficulties, and periods of transition. During her clinical training in healthcare settings, she worked with individuals diagnosed with cancer, as well as caregivers and family members impacted by illness, supporting people navigating grief, uncertainty, role changes, and emotional distress. This experience continues to inform her ability to work thoughtfully with complexity, change, and the emotional challenges that arise across different life experiences.

Rachel’s therapeutic approach is client-centred and integrative. She works from a relational and psychodynamic lens, integrating CBT-informed strategies, mindfulness-based practices, and exposure-based approaches when working with anxiety. She works collaboratively and transparently with clients to understand patterns that may be keeping them feeling stuck and to explore new ways of moving forward, drawing on different tools and approaches to meet each client where they are. Rachel approaches her work from the understanding that individuals bring inherent worth, strengths, and capacity for change, and strives to create a safe, non-judgemental therapeutic space where clients can develop greater self-compassion and move toward a life that feels more aligned and meaningful.
